The Tampa PBA Board of Directors currently has an opening due to the vacancy of Mike Flynn’s Director position. This Director position and any vacant Alternate Director positions will be filled at the next scheduled Board meeting (05/29/12, 1400 hours at the Pension Office). In these situations Director openings are usually filled from the pool of Alternate Directors, so it is likely that we will be filling positions for both a Director and Alternate Director. Anyone interested in these positions should attend this meeting. Please be prepared to address the Board and tell them why you are applying for the position.

On Tuesday, 05/29/12, Alternate Director Austin Farrell was nominated to fill the vacant Director position left by Mike Flynn. There were no other nominations for this position. As such, Austin Farrell was appointed as a Director with the unanimous support of the Board of Directors.

The appointment of Austin Farrell caused a vacancy for Alternate Director. Since no one was present at the meeting to fill this vacancy, the Board will seek to fill it at the next scheduled Board meeting on 06/26/12.

On Tuesday, 06/26/12, the Board elected to delay the appointment of another Alternate Director until 07/31/12 (the next Board meeting). One candidate was present at the 06/26/12 Board meeting and another was unable to attend at the last minute due to a work related call. It is the intention of the Board of Directors to allow all candidates present at the 07/31/12 Board meeting to tell them (the Board) why they want to be an Alternate Director. In order to be a candidate, an existing Director must make a motion nominating the member as a candidate and it must be seconded by another Director.

On Tuesday, 07/31/12, the Board elected to delay the appointment of another Alternate Director until the next Board meeting (08/22/12). No candidates were present at this meeting.
