Dear Fellow Tampa Police Officers and PBA Members:
We began the wage reopener portion of our contract with the City of Tampa last month and have met with the Mayor and his staff on two occasions thus far.
We have given a proposal and have received a counter proposal from the City. We are awaiting a final response from them and hope to have it in the very near future. When we do, I will notify each of you by City E-mail with a written response and then begin the process of setting up informational meetings and ultimately a ratification vote.
As we approach the RNC, we have finalized plans for a group of well trained PBA attorneys to be on standby 24 / 7, in the event you need legal services at any point during the convention. We have partnered with the Star & Shield Insurance Group and the Florida PBA. They along with Tampa PBA representatives will be on hand throughout the event, distributing water and snacks, multiple times each day, to you and the thousands of other law enforcement officers in attendance.
As always, we are here Monday – Friday and are available for a phone call or visit with your concerns.
